Ron Jackson grew up on a family farming operation in Miami County and was involved with the Jackson Potato Farms. As a junior in high school, he was interested in becoming a funeral director and began working for local funeral homes in the area. He married Lorraine (Odom) in June of 1959 and then went on to Mortuary School in Cincinnati and graduated in 1961. Ron and Lorraine later settled into Miami County where they continued to work for local funeral homes until 1975 when the Ross Memorial Home in Pleasant Hill became available. Upon purchasing this facility, they established the Jackson Funeral Home. Rons wife, Lorraine became a key person in the operation of both funeral homes by establishing her career as a licensed beautician. They have two children, Sue Susie and David, and 3 grandchildren, Andrew Andy, Josh and Lacey. Ron and Lorraine enjoy collecting Railroad Lanterns and old postcards from the local area. Sue Jackson, the older of the two children, became involved with the family business at a very young age when she began experiencing the total picture of funeral servicemowing grass, painting, and washing funeral cars while also being raised on the family farm where there were plenty of beans to be hoed. Sue decided she also wanted to be in the funeral profession and graduated in 1994 from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with a Bachelor Degree in Mortuary Science. Sue enjoys the beach and collecting shark teeth. She is also an advocate for animal rights and is involved with the Heart for the Homeless organization. Ron and Sue are both licensed in the state of Ohio as Embalmers and Funeral Directors; Lorraine is licensed in the state of Ohio as a Cosmetologist.
